Vivo Will Have a New OS, Its JoviOS

Vivo since 2014 has always used FunTouchOS as a standard display interface on his cellphones. But they will have a new OS in the near future, called JoviOS.

This is recognized by Ge Yanan, FunTouchOS Project Manager via his Weibo page. Apparently, this brand-new OS will first be used in the X30 series which will be released in the near future in China.

"Thank you for being with us, we will certainly continue to develop ourselves in the future," wrote Ge Yanan in his post.

Not much information about JoviOS other than the logo sketch that was used. It is unknown what features will be available on the newer OS, but it is likely that Vivo will make massive design changes on JoviOS.

New leaks instead emerged from the cellphone series that was allegedly going to use JoviOS, the X30 Pro 5G. This phone still has a 3.5mm audio port on the top left of the phone.

This X30 series will be the first Vivo phone that uses a periscope camera, with hybrid zoom support up to 60x, as quoted from GSM Arena, Friday (11/29/2019).

So far it is known that there will be two variants of the X30, namely the X30 and X30 Pro 5G. Both of these phones will use the Exynos 980 5G chip, which supports 5G dual mode. The AMOLED screen of this mobile phone is equipped with a punch hole that holds the front camera and fingerprint sensor below the screen.

While on the back of the cellphone there are four cameras, one of which is a periscope camera. The combination of the four cameras can bring hybrid zoom up to 60x. Reportedly the X30 will have three color variants, blue, orange, and black.
